Toyota key systems at a glance

Our Toyota reference currently covers 46 Toyota models and 157 key options held in stock. Because Toyota has changed key platforms several times, the chip and frequency are what decide whether a key works — not the badge on the key. Check both below before ordering.

Which chip do Toyota keys use?

Across the Toyota keys we stock, the chip families that appear most often are 8A, 4A, 4D67. Chips such as ID46, ID47, ID49, 4D83, 8A and 4A are fixed in the key hardware and cannot be reprogrammed, so a blank with the wrong chip family will not program to the vehicle. If you are unsure which one a car uses, send us a photo of the customer key and we will identify it.

Which frequency do Toyota keys use?

The most common frequencies for Toyota in our stock are 314 MHz, 314.3 MHz, 433 MHz. A key with the wrong frequency will not lock, unlock or start the car, and frequency cannot be changed in software. Where a model was sold in more than one market, confirm the market version before ordering.

Key types we supply for Toyota

Key types in this range: Smart Key, Remote Head Key, Remote Key. Smart keys need programming with a compatible tool, while flip keys, remote head keys and transponder blades are usually supplied as blanks for cutting and programming in your own workshop.

Programming Toyota keys

Most Toyota smart and flip keys in this range can be programmed with commonly available equipment such as Xhorse VVDI, KeyDIY KD-X or Autel IM508/IM608, depending on the model year. Some late-model vehicles still require online dealer access, and a small number cannot be added without an existing working key. Tell us which programmer you run and we will tell you which of these keys are realistic jobs for you.

Model years covered

This Toyota range covers 1998-2009, 2003-2005, 2004-2009, 2006-2009, 2006-2010, 2006-2011, 2007-2009, 2007-2011 and other model years. Where a generation split exists (for example Golf 6 versus Golf 7, or Astra J versus Astra K), the model name changes the key — always confirm the generation before ordering.

Ordering Toyota keys wholesale
